Patna: A woman’s refusal to identify a photograph as that of her son has prompted further checks into the identity of a Bihar-linked suspect arrested in connection with the firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car.
According to a PTI report published by The Economic Times, police approached a family in Begusarai while checking details of an accused identified as Ritik alias Roshan, 22. He was among three suspects apprehended at Kota railway station in Rajasthan following Sunday’s shooting in Mumbai.
The woman told local media that the person in the photograph shown by police was not her son. She sought action against those responsible and asked investigators to locate her son, saying the family had lost contact with him.
Begusarai Superintendent of Police Maneesh said verification was continuing on the basis of information from the couple and Mumbai Police. The family’s account has not yet resolved the arrested man’s identity.
The firing occurred in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Shroff escaped relatively unhurt, while his driver and a bystander sustained injuries, the report said. Mumbai Police have taken custody of the three accused.
