New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two more people in the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case, bringing the total number of arrests to 13.
The two newly arrested individuals are Dr. Manoj Shirure, a doctor from Latur, and Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, a Physics teacher at Dr. Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy (APMA), a coaching centre in Pune.
What Did They Do?
Dr. Shirure allegedly played a key role in helping three students -including the son of Renukai Career Centre (RCC) founder Shivraj Motegaonkar – get Chemistry questions from NEET paper setter P.V. Kulkarni. Motegaonkar, who ran the RCC in Latur, was already arrested earlier in the case.
Physics teacher Tejas Shah allegedly received leaked Physics questions from another arrested accused, Manisha Havaldar.

The agency has conducted searches at 49 locations and seized several documents, laptops, and mobile phones as part of the probe.
The investigation has also identified middlemen who were involved in collecting lakhs of rupees from students to attend special coaching classes where the leaked questions were shared.
Background
On May 12, the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the NEET UG exam that was held on May 3, amid allegations of paper leak. A re-examination has been scheduled for June 21.
The case was officially registered on May 12, 2026, after the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education filed a complaint. Since then, multiple special investigation teams have been deployed across the country to trace the source of the leaked papers.
The CBI has said its investigation is ongoing and it remains committed to a thorough and impartial probe.
