Just weeks before the scheduled NEET UG 2026 re-examination, a fresh controversy has surfaced after several Telegram channels allegedly claimed to be selling the upcoming Re-exam question paper. The reports quickly sparked concern among lakhs of medical aspirants already dealing with uncertainty following the earlier NEET paper leak controversy.
According to reports, some Telegram groups were advertising what they claimed to be the NEET 2026 re-exam question paper and demanding advance payments from students. In response, the National Testing Agency (NTA) immediately referred the matter to cybercrime authorities for investigation.
No Official Confirmation of Any Leak
The NTA has clarified that there is currently no official confirmation that the re-exam paper has been leaked. Authorities are investigating whether the material being circulated online is genuine or simply an attempt to mislead students and extract money from them.
Education experts have advised students not to trust any social media posts claiming to provide access to exam papers. Similar scams have appeared during previous national-level examinations, often targeting anxious candidates.
NTA Tightens Monitoring
The agency has been actively monitoring social media platforms and messaging apps to prevent the spread of misinformation. Earlier this year, NTA reported that dozens of Telegram channels had been blocked for circulating fake question papers and fraudulent claims aimed at cheating students.
What Students Should Do
Officials have urged candidates to:
- Rely only on official announcements from the NTA.
- Avoid joining groups that promise question papers or guaranteed scores.
- Report suspicious messages or channels to authorities.
- Focus on exam preparation rather than unverified rumours circulating online.
Why This Matters
The latest scare comes at a sensitive time for NEET aspirants. The original NEET UG 2026 examination was cancelled following paper leak allegations, and the re-exam is scheduled to be conducted under enhanced security measures. Any new rumours regarding paper leaks can create unnecessary panic among students and parents.
As investigations continue, students are advised to remain calm and depend only on information published through official channels. Until authorities complete their probe, the claims circulating on Telegram should be treated as unverified.
