Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has released the official admission schedule for MBBS and BDS courses under Punjab’s state quota counselling for the 2026 session. The announcement sets in motion a tightly packed timeline – online applications open on August 5 and, if everything runs on schedule, allotted candidates will be reporting to their colleges by the last week of the same month.
For thousands of NEET-qualified aspirants in Punjab, this is the notification they’ve been waiting for. But the schedule also comes with some unusually strict conditions worth understanding before candidates start filling out their forms.
What’s Been Announced
The university has opened its prospectus and online application portal from August 5, 2026. Candidates have until August 10, 5:00 PM to submit the form, followed by a short one-day correction window that closes on August 11. After that, the application locks automatically – no further edits are possible.
Sports quota candidates face an additional requirement: they must physically submit two printed copies of their application, along with a Sports Gradation Certificate from the Director of Sports, Punjab, at the Admission Branch in Faridkot by the same August 11 deadline.

The fee must be paid online through the university’s payment gateway only, and the deadline is slightly earlier than the correction deadline – 3:00 PM on August 11, not 5:00 PM. Candidates claiming the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category will need a valid UDID Card or Disability Certificate that meets NMC norms.
The Minority Quota Verification Step Candidates Often Miss
This is where the Punjab process differs from several other states. Candidates applying under the Sikh or Christian Minority Quota cannot simply upload a certificate online – they must appear in person for eligibility verification.

Both verifications happen on August 12, up to 5:00 PM – the same day NRI candidates must submit their physical application. Only candidates who clear this verification can select Minority Quota seats when choice filling begins. Missing this one-day window effectively removes that option from the table, regardless of NEET rank.
Merit List and the Objection Process
The Provisional Merit List goes live on August 13. Candidates get exactly one day – August 14 – to raise objections, and it has to be done in person at the Admission Branch with supporting documents. Emailed objections will not be entertained. A revised list, if required, follows on August 15.

Candidates get a four-day choice-filling window and just four days to complete physical reporting once allotted – including document verification, a medical examination where applicable, and payment of six months’ tuition fee through the university’s online gateway.
What This Means for Candidates
The compressed timeline is the biggest takeaway here. Between application opening and Round 1 reporting, the entire process spans under four weeks. A few practical points follow from that:
- Apply early, don’t wait for August 10. With only a one-day correction window afterward, errors caught late leave almost no room to fix.
- Minority quota candidates should treat August 12 as a hard deadline, not a formality – there’s no second verification date built into this schedule.
- Keep documents ready before allotment, not after. With only four days between the provisional result and the reporting deadline, candidates who wait to gather documents risk missing their college seat entirely.
- All objections require physical presence in Faridkot – for merit list disputes and seat allotment disputes alike. Candidates outside Punjab should factor in travel time.
