Quota Categories Explained

  • Government Quota (GQ): For Puducherry residents only, across Government and Private colleges
  • Management Quota (MQ): Open seats filled on All-India basis (NEET score/rank)
  • Telugu Minority Quota (MQT): For Puducherry residents from the Telugu linguistic minority – applicable at SVMCH&RC (MBBS) and SVDC (BDS)

Counselling: Four Online Rounds

  • Round 1 – No registration fee
  • Round 2 – Registration fee applicable (Rs. 5,000–10,000 for GQ; Rs. 2,00,000 for MQ/NRI)
  • Round 3 – Higher registration fee slabs; Government Quota seats convert to Management/Self-Supporting if unfilled
  • Stray Round – Full tuition fee payable; only for candidates not admitted in earlier rounds

Sliding between colleges/courses is allowed only in Round 2 and Round 3. All counselling – from application to allotment – is conducted online only.

  • Residence/Community Certificate (Puducherry residents — dated on/after 01.01.2026)
  • EWS Certificate (on/after 01.04.2026), where applicable
  • Category, Regional, or Special Reservation certificates (Freedom Fighter, PwBD, ESM, MSP, Govt. School Quota), where applicable
  • For NRI/OCI/FN candidates: passport, embassy certificate, sponsor relationship certificate, and relationship tree – all with specific validity windows

Important Rules Candidates Must Know

  • Only one application per candidate is allowed; duplicates lead to cancellation of candidature.
  • Candidates with dual nativity claims (claiming residency benefits in more than one state/UT) face disqualification and possible legal action.
  • Application data cannot be edited after the submission deadline.
  • Fresh course preferences must be submitted for every counselling round – previous round preferences become void.
  • Original certificates must be produced only at the time of admission in the allotted college.

Stipend for MBBS Interns

The brochure confirms a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000 for MBBS interns in private medical colleges, on par with the Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, as per NMC norms.
