Prateek Yadav Dies at 38 in Lucknow, Political Leaders Express Grief

Prateek Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav, died in Lucknow after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 38 years old.

Lucknow: Prateek Yadav, son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, passed away in Lucknow on Wednesday at the age of 38.

According to reports, Prateek Yadav suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Lucknow, where doctors declared him dead. His sudden demise has shocked political circles and supporters across Uttar Pradesh.

Prateek Yadav was married to Aparna Yadav, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2022 after being associated with the Samajwadi Party for several years.

Although Prateek Yadav largely stayed away from active politics, he remained a prominent member of the influential Yadav family. Known for maintaining a low public profile, he was often seen during important family and political events in Uttar Pradesh.

Following the news of his death, several leaders from different political parties expressed condolences to the Yadav family. Party workers and supporters also gathered outside the family residence in Lucknow to pay their respects.

Sources said preparations for the last rites are currently underway, while more details are awaited from the family and hospital authorities.
