The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the refund submission process for NEET UG 2026 applicants. Candidates can now visit the official portal and provide their bank account information to claim eligible refunds related to the examination process.
As per the official notification, students must log in using their application credentials and access the refund section available on the NEET UG 2026 portal. Applicants are required to enter accurate banking details, while uploading a cancelled cheque copy remains optional for verification purposes.
The refund facility will remain available from 22 May 2026 to 27 May 2026 till 11:50 PM. Once submitted, candidates will not be allowed to modify their bank information later.
NTA has also advised students not to raise chargeback requests during the ongoing refund procedure, as it may affect the processing of refunds. Candidates are encouraged to complete the process within the deadline to avoid delays
What is a charge bank request
A chargeback request is a process where a person asks their bank or payment provider to reverse a payment made through a debit card, credit card, or online transaction.
In the NEET UG 2026 context, if a student paid the exam fee but later asks the bank to cancel or reverse that payment directly through the bank, it is called a chargeback request.
NTA has advised candidates not to initiate chargebacks because:
- it can delay the official refund process,
- create payment verification issues,
- or lead to complications in refund settlement.
Instead, candidates should use the official refund portal opened by NTA to receive their refund safely.
