The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension of the deadline for NEET (UG)-2026 candidates to submit their bank account details for the refund of examination fees. The new deadline has been set for 22 June 2026 (up to 11:50 PM), giving candidates nearly a month of additional time beyond the original of 27 May 2026.
Background
Earlier this month, the NTA activated a dedicated facility on the NEET (UG)-2026 registration portal, allowing candidates to submit their preferred bank account details for processing fee refunds. The initial window was opened from 22 May 2026 to 27 May 2026. While approximately 13 lakh candidates completed their submissions within that period, a large number of registered candidates were yet to do so, prompting NTA to grant an extension.
“In order to facilitate candidates who are yet to submit their bank account details, NTA has decided to extend the facility for submission of bank account details, till 22nd June 2026,” the official notice stated.
What Candidates Must Know
Candidates who have not yet submitted their bank details are required to log in to the NEET (UG)-2026 registration portal at https://neet.nta.nic.in and access the refund link from their dashboard.
One critical point to keep in mind: once bank account details are submitted, they are treated as final. The NTA has made it clear that no further modifications will be permitted after submission. Candidates are therefore strongly advised to verify all entries carefully before confirming.
Optionally, candidates may also upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque to further verify the accuracy of their bank account information.
Step-by-Step Process to Submit Bank Details
The following steps, as outlined in Annexure-I of the official notice, guide candidates through the login and submission process:

Step 5 – Complete login Click “Verify OTP & Login” to access your candidate dashboard.
Step 6 – Access the refund link On the dashboard, locate and click the fee refund link. This will open the bank account details submission form.
Step 7 – Fill in bank account details Enter all the required banking information accurately. The following details are mandatory:
- Account Holder Name (as per bank account)
- IFSC Code
- Account Number
- Bank Name

Step 8 – Review and submit Carefully review every field before submitting the form. Once submitted, the details cannot be edited or changed under any circumstances.
Why This Extension Matters
The NEET UG examination is the single national-level entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programmes across India. A large number of candidates register every year, and any delay in fee refund processing can cause financial inconvenience, particularly for students from economically weaker backgrounds. The NTA’s decision to extend the deadline reflects an effort to ensure that all eligible candidates receive their refunds without procedural hurdles.
Candidates who missed the original deadline should make use of this extended window at the earliest rather than waiting until 22 June, to avoid last-minute technical difficulties on the portal.
