Compliance Directions Issued to Colleges
MARB has directed all private medical colleges that received approval for a new college or an increase in seats to submit an Electronic Bank Guarantee within seven days of the notice, dated July 14, 2026. The Letter of Permission for these colleges will be issued only after the guarantee is verified.
The Board has also instructed counselling authorities, including the Medical Counselling Committee and state-level committees, not to permit admissions beyond the number of seats approved in the matrix. Any admission made in excess of the sanctioned intake will be treated as a violation of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and will attract regulatory action against the college concerned.
The seat matrix remains subject to revision based on decisions of the Appeal Committee or any other competent authority, and any updated version will be published on the NMC’s official website ahead of the NEET UG 2026 counselling process.
