NEET PG 2026: NBEMS Issues Fraud Alert, Warns Aspirants Against Sharing OTPs, Admit Cards and Documents

NBEMS Issues Fraud Alert: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued a fresh advisory for NEET PG 2026 aspirants, cautioning them against a rising risk of cyber fraud, identity theft and misuse of personal data during the ongoing application process. The warning comes even as lakhs of MBBS graduates race to complete their registration for the postgraduate medical entrance exam before the deadline closes later this month.

According to the advisory, NBEMS has asked candidates to deal only through official channels and to stay alert against unauthorised individuals, coaching centres and agencies attempting to collect sensitive exam-related information.

What NBEMS Has Warned Candidates About

The board has specifically instructed NEET PG 2026 applicants not to share the following details with anyone:

  • One-Time Passwords (OTPs) sent to their registered mobile number or email
  • Login credentials and account passwords
  • Admit cards and scorecards
  • Identity documents and photographs

NBEMS said such information should never be handed over to coaching institutes, third-party agencies, social media pages or unknown individuals claiming to assist with the application process. Candidates who fall for such requests risk having their exam accounts compromised, their personal data misused, or their candidature put at risk.

The board has advised students to report any suspicious calls, emails or messages related to NEET PG 2026 and to rely strictly on information published on the official website, natboard.edu.in.

“One Candidate, One Application” Rule Reiterated

NBEMS has also reiterated its long-standing “one candidate, one application” policy for NEET PG. Under this rule:

  • Every applicant is allowed to submit only one application form
  • If a candidate submits multiple forms, only the most recently submitted application will be considered valid
  • All earlier applications will be automatically rejected
  • Fees already paid for any cancelled or rejected application will not be refunded

Candidates are being urged to double-check every detail including category, date of birth and contact information before final submission, since the board is not permitting any edits once an application has been submitted.

Strict Action Warned for Rule Violations

The advisory further states that candidates found submitting forged documents, providing false information, or using unfair means at any stage of the examination process could face immediate cancellation of their candidature. In serious cases, NBEMS said, offending candidates may also be debarred from appearing in future examinations conducted by the board.

NEET PG 2026 Registration: Key Dates

EventDate
Application process beganJuly 1, 2026
Last date to applyJuly 21, 2026 (till 11:55 PM)
NEET PG 2026 exam dateAugust 30, 2026

Candidates are also required to keep their registered mobile number and email ID active throughout the admission cycle, since all official communication from NBEMS will be sent only through these channels.

Why This Advisory Matters

Fraud attempts targeting competitive exam aspirants have grown more sophisticated in recent years, with fake “verification calls,” phishing links and impersonators posing as exam officials or coaching representatives. By flagging the risk early in the registration window, NBEMS is attempting to prevent candidates from losing access to their accounts or having their personal data exploited before the exam itself takes place on August 30, 2026.

Aspirants are advised to bookmark the official NBEMS website and cross-check any communication they receive against it before taking any action.

This report is based on the official advisory issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for NEET PG 2026 candidates.
