Delhi Re-NEET 2026 Topper: Kashvi Dhall Leads State, Ranks 6th Among Women Nationally

New Delhi: Delhi’s best performer in the Re-NEET UG 2026 exam is Kashvi Dhall, who secured All India Rank 24 with a 99.9978999 percentile. What stands out isn’t just her state-topping rank – it’s that Delhi’s entire top presence in the national merit list this year leans unusually female, with women occupying three of its ten spots in the national top 138, disproportionately clustered near the very top.

Dhall’s AIR 24 also places her at rank 6 nationally among all female candidates in NTA’s separate female-toppers list – a notably strong showing for a single city-state, and Delhi’s clearest highlight this year.

Hanshika, at AIR 60, also lands at national female rank 17 – meaning Delhi placed two women in NTA’s official top-20 female list, a stronger female showing than most other large states managed this year.

What’s Missing From Delhi’s List

Every single Delhi name in the national top 138 is General or OBC-NCL – there’s no Delhi candidate in NTA’s published SC, ST, EWS or PwBD top-10 rankings this year. That’s a narrower category spread than states like Rajasthan or Bihar, even though Delhi’s total count of 10 entries in the top 138 is respectable in absolute terms.

How Delhi Compares Nationally

  • Punjab and Haryana jointly hold AIR 1 with 715/720
  • Rajasthan (AIR 3), Bihar (AIR 4), Maharashtra (AIR 5), Uttar Pradesh (AIR 7) and Karnataka (AIR 20, tied closely) all sit ahead of or around Delhi’s best finisher
  • Delhi’s 10 names in the top 138 put it roughly on par with Karnataka in volume, though clearly behind Rajasthan’s 19 and Maharashtra’s wider spread
  • Delhi’s strength this year is concentrated almost entirely among female candidates in the General category

How Delhi’s MBBS/BDS Counselling Actually Works

This is where Delhi differs sharply from states like Karnataka or Bihar: there is no dedicated Delhi counselling board. Instead:

  • Admissions to Delhi’s government medical colleges – including the DU-affiliated colleges, GGSIPU-affiliated colleges and AIIMS Delhi – are conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), a central body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
  • Seats split into 85% Delhi (state) quota and 15% All India Quota, both processed through the same MCC portal at mcc.nic.in
  • After seat allotment, candidates admitted to DU-affiliated colleges must separately register at the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMSc), University of Delhi (fmsc.du.ac.in) to complete admission
  • IP University (GGSIPU)-affiliated colleges run a partially separate registration through ipu.admissions.nic.in for their share of seats
  • Delhi has roughly 1,547 MBBS seats across 11 medical colleges this year – 1,297 government seats (including AIIMS Delhi) and 250 private seats

What Delhi Candidates Should Do Next

  • Track mcc.nic.in for both AIQ and Delhi state-quota registration – both run through the same central portal, not a separate Delhi authority
  • Delhi domicile – typically evidenced by schooling within NCT of Delhi at a recognised board – is required for the 85% state-quota seats
  • If allotted a DU-affiliated college, remember the extra step of registering separately at fmsc.du.ac.in
  • Keep the school certificate (confirming Delhi-based schooling), NEET scorecard and category certificates ready ahead of document verification
