The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the Class 12 rechecking and revaluation process for 2026 board exam students. Along with the new digital evaluation system, CBSE has also introduced Aadhaar authentication during the application process to improve transparency and security.
Students who feel there may be an error in marking can now apply online through the official CBSE portal. The revaluation window is open from June 2 to June 6, 2026.
What’s New This Year?
CBSE has introduced Aadhaar-based verification for students applying for rechecking or revaluation. Students may need to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar details before completing the application.
The board has also continued its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system introduced earlier this year for faster and more transparent evaluation.
Who Can Apply?
Only those students who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets are eligible to apply for rechecking or re-evaluation.
If you did not apply for the scanned answer sheet earlier, you cannot directly apply for revaluation now.
Difference Between Verification and Re-evaluation
Verification of Marks
In this process, CBSE checks:
- Whether all answers were evaluated
- Whether marks were added correctly
- Whether marks were transferred properly
Re-evaluation
In re-evaluation, students can request CBSE to recheck specific answers/questions that they believe were marked incorrectly.

Why CBSE Introduced Aadhaar Verification
CBSE says Aadhaar verification has been added to:

- Make the process more transparent
The move comes after concerns regarding technical glitches and evaluation transparency this year.
Students are advised not to wait until the last date because heavy traffic on the portal may cause login issues.
