The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for Class 12 post-result processes, including verification of marks, photocopy of answer sheets, and re-evaluation for students dissatisfied with their scores. The update comes shortly after the declaration of the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 on May 13.
According to the board, students will first be allowed to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets before applying for re-evaluation. CBSE has introduced a revised process linked with its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system to improve transparency and accuracy in evaluation.
Important Dates for CBSE Class 12 Re-Evaluation 2026
As per the announced schedule:
- Applications for photocopies of answer sheets can be submitted from May 19 to May 22, 2026.
- Verification of marks and re-evaluation applications will be accepted from May 26 to May 29, 2026.
Students can apply through the official CBSE portals after logging in with their roll number, school number, and admit card ID.
How Students Can Apply
Candidates seeking re-evaluation must follow these steps:
- Visit the official CBSE website.
- Open the post-result services section.
- Log in using required credentials.
- Select the desired service – photocopy, verification, or re-evaluation.
- Pay the prescribed fee online and submit the application.
CBSE has clarified that re-evaluation requests will only be accepted after students obtain photocopies of their answer sheets.
Concerns Over Evaluation Process
This year’s results have triggered discussions among students and educators regarding the digital evaluation system. Several students reportedly questioned unexpectedly low marks in science subjects despite performing well in competitive examinations like JEE Main. CBSE has defended the OSM evaluation framework and stated that the re-evaluation mechanism has been strengthened to address such concerns.
The board has advised students to regularly check the official website for detailed notifications and updates regarding fees, timelines, and application procedures
