Abbas Haider came into the spotlight during the tragic Alaya Apartment collapse in Lucknow in January 2023. In the incident, his wife Uzma Haider (aged around 30–35) and his mother Begum Haider (aged around 75–87) remained trapped under the debris for more than 15 hours. They were rescued alive by the rescue team and admitted to the hospital, but both later passed away during treatment. At the time of the incident, his father Ameer Haider and his son Mustafa were also trapped under the debris for about five hours. They were safely rescued and hospitalized, which helped save their lives.
Abbas Haider is also quite active on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter). He openly raises his voice for the rights of marginalized, oppressed, and underprivileged communities. With his fearless views and confident approach, he effectively highlights social issues and works continuously to spread public awareness.
