Detailed Description of the Incident
Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raja Raghuvanshi were married on 11 May 2025. Sonam and Raja left for a honeymoon to Meghalaya; however, on 2 June, the body of Raja was found in a gorge. In the process of investigating the case, it was found out that Sonam had plotted the murder and contract killers were also involved in the crime. Sonam and four others were arrested on 9 June.

Raj is employed as a manager in the factory. As per the available information, Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha were staying in the same colony even before the marriage and were said to be very close friends. It is also believed that both of them were seen together on the Shillong trip.
Sonam and Raj were allegedly involved in the conspiracy of hiring three contract killers for the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. The duo was also reported to be planning their escape from the country and were looking forward to going to Nepal. No arrest of Raj Kushwaha has been reported yet.
