MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment Result LIVE: MCC Releases Provisional List at mcc.nic.in

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the provisional seat allotment result for Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 on its official website, mcc.nic.in. The result covers admissions to the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and 100% seats at AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU, Central Universities, ESIC institutions, and Delhi University/IP University quota seats for MBBS and BDS courses.

The release comes after MCC revised the Round 1 schedule multiple times through August, first pushing back the choice filling and locking window and then the result date itself, before finally settling on the current timeline.

What the Result Shows

The provisional allotment list is a rank-wise document listing, for every candidate who received a seat, the allotted quota, institute name, course, allotted category, the candidate’s declared category, and a remarks column confirming allotment status. A separate abbreviation key at the start of the document decodes the various quota and category short forms used through the list including AI (All India), SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and their PwD variants.

Candidates can verify their status either by logging into the MCC counselling portal with their registration credentials or by searching for their All India Rank (AIR) directly in the published PDF.

Freeze or Float: What Allotted Candidates Must Do

Every candidate who receives a seat in Round 1 is required to choose between two options on the MCC portal before the reporting deadline:

  • Freeze — the candidate accepts the allotted seat as final, opts out of further upgrading rounds, and proceeds to report at the allotted institute.
  • Float — the candidate retains eligibility to be considered for a better seat in subsequent rounds while continuing to hold the current allotment.

Failing to make a selection within the stipulated window can result in the seat being forfeited, according to the MCC’s counselling guidelines.

Next Steps for Candidates

Candidates allotted a seat are advised to download their provisional allotment letter, exercise the Freeze/Float option on time, and report to their allotted institute with original documents and photocopies including the NEET UG scorecard, admit card, Class 10 and 12 certificates, category certificate (where applicable), and valid photo identification.

MCC has clarified that the current list is provisional in nature. Candidates who identify discrepancies — such as a data or category mismatch — can raise a grievance with the committee before the final Round 1 result is published.

This is a developing story and will be updated as MCC releases further information on the NEET UG Counselling 2026 process.
