Cockroach Janta Party X Case: The Delhi High Court will be hearing on Friday (May 29) a petition by Abhijeet Dipke, who has founded Cockroach Janta Party, where he has taken up the issue against the blocking of their X (former Twitter) account.
This legal controversy is due to one of the most bizarre viral phenomena in the recent history of Indian social media – one that originates from a statement made by the Chief Justice of India during a court case discussion.
CJI’s Clarification – And Response To the Petition
The Chief Justice of India subsequently made it clear that he was talking only about those who possessed fake degrees, not about the young people in general. But his clarification could not stop the viral spread of the movement, and the accounts were not restored.

Mr. Abhijeet Dipke, who considers himself the creator of the party, has already filed a case in the Delhi High Court concerning the suspension of the Cockroach Janata Party’s Twitter account X. According to reports, the petition will probably discuss issues related to the right to free speech and expression online, procedures used for blocking the account, and the right of satirical parties to have an online presence.
The case will be heard by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav on Friday, 29 May 2026.
