KOCHI: Cockroach Janta Party leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Aafreen Nawaz and Vijay Mallangi will join a public rally at Rajendra Maidan in Kochi on Saturday against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The event, billed “Jantar Mantar @ Kochi,” begins at 4 p.m. on Nov. 7.
“Save Democracy! Cancel SIR! Join Us – 7th November – 4 PM | Rajendra Maidan, Kochi,” the party said in a post on X.

The rally follows the detention of CJP leaders in Delhi last month. They had planned a demonstration at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the SIR.
Those detained included Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das. Delhi Police said the group did not have permission to protest.
Authorities had earlier denotified Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site. Das and Ranka still entered the area and waved the national flag. They were arrested and spent a week in judicial custody.
They were released Oct. 21 after telling a Special Executive Magistrate they would not hold further protests at Jantar Mantar while it remains denotified.
The CJP also backed the INDIA bloc’s “Chalo Dilli” march on Nov. 1 but did not take part in the Opposition rally at Ramlila Maidan against alleged “vote chori,” or vote theft. Dipke has said the party wants to keep its independent identity.
