The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has announced the schedule for the third round of online counselling for admission to first-year MBBS and BDS courses in the state’s government medical and dental colleges for the 2026 academic session.
What the Round 3 Counselling Covers
This round will fill vacant MBBS/BDS seats under the State Quota in Assam’s government medical and dental colleges. It is open to candidates who have qualified NEET-UG 2026 (conducted by the National Testing Agency), meet the state’s cutoff score, and satisfy the eligibility norms laid out under the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st Year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017, as amended up to 2026.
Candidates who already registered and took part in Round 1 or Round 2 of Assam’s state counselling do not need to register again – they can go straight to online choice-filling for Round 3, whether they want a fresh seat allotment or wish to change their currently allotted college.

Important Eligibility Exclusion
Candidates who have already been allotted or are currently holding a seat secured through Round 3 of the Medical Counselling Committee’s (MCC) All India Quota counselling for the 2026 session are not eligible to participate in this state-level Round 3 counselling and will be removed from the process if found participating.
